Des Plaines Food Fight nets 3,338 pounds
The Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce's 12th annual "Food Fight" brought in 6,558 pounds of food for the Self-Help Pantry. The Kiwanis Club of Des Plaines won the challenge with 3,338 pounds of collected food. Other participants: Des Plaines Camera Club (650 lbs.); Rotary Club of Des Plaines (540 lbs.); Des Plaines Library Board & Friends of the Library (470 lbs.); Optimist Club of Des Plaines (375 lbs.); Des Plaines Chamber of Commerce & Industry (374 lbs.); Des Plaines Garden Club (203 lbs.); The Diplomat of Des Plaines (192 lbs.); Mill Run Condominiums (186 lbs.); Bethesda Worship Center (184 lbs.) and the Des Plaines Lions Club (46 lbs).
