Jail time for Wisconsin woman in concealing infant's death
WAUSAU, Wis. - A mother accused of wrapping her dead infant in a garbage bag and throwing it in a trash bin has been sentenced in Marathon County to seven months in jail.
A judge also ordered three years of probation for 33-year-old Zoua Yang Tuesday. Yang admitted she gave birth to a child while staying with a relative last October in Wausau. Police believe the baby was stillborn.
Investigators searched the Marathon County landfill for the infant's body after the trash container was hauled away. But, no remains were found.
Yang was charged with child neglect and concealing the death of a child. Daily Herald Media says Yang's two children were removed from her home shortly after charges were filed and now live with their father in Eau Claire.
