Lake Zurich Area Chamber to host showcase

The Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 22nd Annual Business and Community Showcase from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Lake Zurich High School, 300 Church St., Lake Zurich.

The 2014 Showcase will feature nearly 100 local businesses and community organizations that will display, demonstrate and provide advice on products and services to help attendees welcome in spring.

Family entertainment includes Dave DiNaso's Traveling World of Reptiles, McNulty School of Irish Dance, Max the Dog, In Motion Dance Company, LZHS Bear Voices, and the Trilogy School of Performing Arts.

A free courtesy van will transport families from the parking lots to the showcase front door and back to their cars. Concessions will be provided by the LZ Bear Boosters.

Showcase Bingo will offer attendees a chance to win a free iPad. Everything but the food is free.

The accredited Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce represents nearly 500 businesses and organizations in the area, including Deer Park, Hawthorn Woods, Kildeer, Lake Zurich, Long Grove and North Barrington.

In 2013, the accrediting board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce designated the Lake Zurich Area Chamber of Commerce as an accredited chamber. Accreditation indicates that a chamber of commerce operates under effective organizational procedures and contributes to significant positive change in the community.

To achieve this standing, the chamber performed an intensive self-assessment of their operations in nine areas of work, including governance, government affairs, and technology. The Lake Zurich Area Chamber has been in existence since 1915.
