Protecting birds is talk topic:

Bird conservation is the topic of a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, of the Lake-to-Prairie Wild Ones at the Fremont Public Library, 1700 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein. "The Future of Birds: Are Continuing Declines Inevitable?" will be presented by conservation activist Donnie Dann. Birds face a variety of threats, including habitat loss, free-roaming cats, and collisions with glass, communication towers, and vehicles. Many local and national groups are working to respond but there are ways individuals can help. Dann is involved with several environmental organizations, including the Chicago Audubon Society, Illinois Audubon Society, American Bird Conservancy, American Birding Association, The Nature Conservancy, Illinois Nature Preserves Commission, and Lake Michigan Wind Energy Advisory Council. Families are welcome. Registration is not required. Visit http://wildones.us7.list-manage1.com/ or call (847) 546-4198.
