Elgin

• Joel Sosa, 20, of the 1000 block of North 8th Avenue, Maywood, was charged Sunday in connection with a residential burglary that took place Dec. 29 on the 2200 block of Deerpath Drive in Elgin, according to a police report. Sosa's fingerprints were recovered in the house, from which between $100 and $200 in change, a Dell tablet and a Sony camcorder were taken. Sosa's bail was set at $150,000 in Kane County bond court, and his next court date is April 2.

• Edgar Leal-Marin, of the 400 block of Ann Street, Elgin, was charged Sunday with aggravated DUI, driving without a valid driver's license and leaving the scene of an accident involving damage in the 500 block of Ann Street, according to court records. His bail was set at $25,000 in Kane County bond court, and his next court date is April 2.

• A resident of the 400 block of Nokomis Trail near Algonquin reported Wednesday that her ex-boyfriend had sent her 26 harassing and offensive text messages along with 12 voice mails, according to a sheriff's report.
