Palatine Hills Golf Association Membership Now Available

The Palatine Hills Golf Association (PHGA), has shaped over 40 years of golf at the Palatine Hills Golf Course located at 512 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The goal of the association is to promote the game of golf along with fellowship and sportsmanship. Over 130 men and women currently belong to the association. Long-time PHGA member Bob Doherty states, "Belonging to this great association is like belonging to my own 'country club,' at a premier, well-maintained public golf course. I can't believe the friends I have made and the camaraderie experienced over the years."

The PHGA consists of over 14 committees that organize events and activities throughout the golfing season. A few of the events offered include the Spring Scramble, weekend pot games, holiday potluck games, a member/relative event, monthly travel events, and the popular Takahashi Classic - a two-person/two-ball event. According to Mark Faruzzi, who first joined the association in 2013, "Last year was my first year as a member and I can't wait to get started this spring. The events are so much fun, and what a great group!"

Community and course related service projects are another important aspect of the association. Projects include the 7th tee fountain, the Memorial Garden, and the Garden logo. These projects and services help promote the country club feel of both Palatine Hills and the association.

Golfers of varying experience levels are welcome to join the association; all players establish a USGA handicap under a well-managed system and compete with individuals with similar handicaps. Members can establish a foursome for Saturday or Sunday permanent tee times, become a substitute golfer for the permanent tee times, or just choose to participate in the association's many special events.
