Stevenson edges out Oak Park

Melissa Gartenberg scored 6 goals, and Stevenson's girls water polo team stayed undefeated by edging visiting Oak Park 9-8 Thursday night.

Annika Hotchkiss, Ashley Oliver and Alexa Kotlyar also scored for the Patriots (6-0), who overcame a 6-4 halftime deficit by scoring twice in the third quarter.

Stevenson's Becky Callen was credited with 12 saves.

Vernon Hills 16, Deerfield 10: Lauren Wood dominated for the Cougars, scoring 7 goals and adding 4 assists.

Lisa Cheng chipped in 4 goals for Vernon Hills, while Elena Ochoa (8 steals) and Melanie Schaffer had two apiece. Morgan Levy also scored for the Cougars.

Libertyville 14, Conant 13: Sarah Durning led the Wildcats with 7 goals, and Madison Griffith scored the game-winner with 1:30 left.

Libertyville received 2 goals apiece from Harriet Davies, Mack Ryan and Devika Joshi.
