St. Charles Public Library closing March 24-28

The St. Charles Public Library will be closed during its renovation project beginning Monday, March 24, to Friday, March 28. The library is scheduled to reopen Saturday, March 29, at 9 a.m.

During the course of remodeling, the construction crew found asbestos in the vinyl composite tile in the Reference/Info Commons area. In order to continue with renovations in this area, abatement is required. To ensure the health and safety of patrons and staff, the library will be closed.

Due dates for library material checked out from now until March 24 have an extended loan period and will not be due until the library reopens. Any fines accrued for items due during the week of March 24 will be waived.

During the closing, books and media items borrowed from the library may be returned using any of the library's four outdoor book drop locations. Patrons can monitor the library's website at www.stcharleslibrary.org for updates on construction progress.

The St. Charles Public Library is at One S. Sixth Ave. in St. Charles. For information, visit www.st.charleslibrary.org or call Director Pam Leffler at (630) 584-0076, ext. 228.
