Schaumburg approves 7-home subdivision

Schaumburg trustees this week approved a plan to replace two larger houses on Thacker Road between Roselle Road and Pleasant Drive with seven new, and smaller, single-family homes.

But things aren't quite that simple. Because Thacker forms part of the Hoffman Estates border, the proposed Shannon Estates subdivision now needs the permission of Hoffman Estates officials for the use of their right of way so that Schaumburg can provide utilities to the site.

Officials do not expect that to be a problem.

Schaumburg Community Planner Marisa Warneke said the approved new homes will be one- or two-stories and priced in the mid-$500,000s.

There is no set time frame for the build-out of the subdivision, and the homes likely will be constructed as the market dictates, Warneke said.
