St. Patrick's Day parade:

The village of Lake Villa hosts its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday, March 15, at noon. Lineup begins at 10:30 a.m. at Palombi Middle School, 133 McKinley Ave. Due to snow, the route has changed slightly from previous years. The parade will leave Palombi and travel on McKinley Avenue toward Grand Avenue, turn left on Burnett Avenue, right on Sherwood Avenue, left on Grand Avenue, right on Cedar Avenue and end on Railroad Avenue near the Lake Villa VFW. The annual corn beef and cabbage dinner at the VFW, 130 E. Grand Ave., is immediately after the parade. Cost for the dinner is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and children under 12, and there is a hot dog plate for $4. Spectators are asked to bring food items to help fill the "Rainbow Caboose" for the Lake Villa Food Pantry. For information, call village hall at (847) 356-6100.
