Abortion proposal protects women, babies

Thank God for conscientious lawmakers like Illinois state Rep. Tom Morrison of Palatine, who is introducing legislation to make abortion clinics safer for pregnant women who feel they have no choice but to end the life beginning within them. He wants to be sure the doctor is available while the women and teenage girls are in recovery, in case of complications. He wants to make sure the doctor has admitting privileges at the local hospital, in case of life-threatening complications. And he wants to make sure the parents are offered a chance to see the ultrasound image of their child and wait a day before making that life-ending decision.

So who could possibly oppose those measures? The spokesman for the ACLU said that "the purpose of these bills is to end meaningful access to abortions." What? What are the pro-aborts trying to hide, that these clearly positive steps are objectionable to them?

Haven't these new mothers already been through enough pain in their lives? To hide the facts (including that the procedure will kill her real, living baby and that the abortion might have serious and even life-threatening consequences for herself) is unconscionable.

What's the real war against women? The whole sickening business of cashing in on unwanted pregnancies by promoting abortion and contraception, Planned Parenthood. Treating people like objects to be used and abused and thrown away, when they were made to love and be loved.

Let's be part of the solution: That includes recognizing the beauty of all human life, learning about natural family planning, and supporting people like Rep. Morrison who propose raising standards of care for all. Your readers dealing with these issues can call their local women's center or pregnancy help center for guidance in making the choice for life.
