High school teacher charged with sex assault

Bond was set at $250,000 for a Southwest suburban high school teacher accused of having a sexual encounter with a female student.

Ryan W. Dolan, a history teacher and wrestling coach at Tinley Park High School, is charged with two counts of felony criminal sexual assault. He appeared Monday in Will County circuit court.

Prosecutors allege the 29-year-old Dolan had sexual contact with a 17-year-old student on Friday. He was arrested Saturday.

Prosecutors sought bond of $500,000, but defense attorney Earl Grinbarg requested a lower amount, noting Dolan has no criminal record. He says Dolan won't return to the school.

Bremen High School District 228 Superintendent Bill Kendall said Dolan is suspended with pay while the district determines what action to take against him.
