Northbound Route 43 to close:

A bridge deck replacement project on northbound Route 43 over southbound Route 41 is scheduled to begin Monday, March 3, weather permitting. In order to complete the work, northbound Route 43 will be closed, along with the bridge structure carrying northbound Route 43 over southbound Route 41, until Aug. 15. The scope of work includes bridge deck removal and replacement, milling and resurfacing, guard rail replacement and other incidental repairs. The detour route for northbound traffic will be in place beginning at the intersection of routes 43 and 137, directing traffic east on Route 137 to Route 41 north to just north of Route 120. For northbound routes 41 and 43 on Route 120, traffic will be directed to continue east on Route 120 to northbound Route 131. Visit http://www.dot.il.gov for road project information or www.travelmidwest.com for traffic updates.
