Buffalo Grove awards village manager with pay hike, bonus

Buffalo Grove trustees this week awarded Village Manager Dane Bragg a 2 percent pay hike, raising his total base salary to $181,400.

The village board also voted him a $15,000 bonus, based on last year's performance, Village President Jeffrey Braiman said.

Braiman said Bragg had a "tremendous year," noting such accomplishments as the initial union contract with the police department, negotiating separation agreements to reduce salary and pension obligations, revamping of the village's website and the introduction of a new village mobile app.

"He recognized a potential deficit and took steps necessary to virtually wipe out the deficit," Braiman added.

Bragg said he feels good about the vote of confidence. "I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to continue working with the village."

Bragg was hired as village manager in 2010. Prior to arriving in Buffalo Grove, he served as assistant city manager and director of economic and urban development in Decatur, and city manager in Galesburg.
