Palatine man sentenced to seven years for sexual assault

A 50-year-old Palatine man pleaded guilty to molesting a 9-year-old girl last year, according to court records.
Jose Juarez-Diaz pleaded guilty Friday to criminal sexual assault, a class 1 felony, and was sentenced to seven years in prison. The judge also ordered Juarez-Diaz to pay $1,389 in fines and to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
Juarez Diaz, who had no criminal background, received credit for 326 days in custody.
