Join Daily Herald film critic for night of Oscar discussion

The St. Charles Public Library will be rolling out the red carpet for the 2014 Oscars.

Join Daily Herald film critic Dann Gire, as he presents "The Envelope Please! The Academy Awards" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Carnegie Community Room.

Gire, president of the Chicago Film Critics Association, will discuss what makes an Oscar-winning contender, and preview the 86th annual Academy Award nominees. Clips from potential winners such as "12 Years a Slave," "Gravity," "Captain Phillips" and "Blue is the Warmest Color" will be shown.

The St. Charles Library Foundation sponsors the popular Movie Series.
