Endorsement: Bartels for Lake County Board Dist. 10
Three ambitious and competent candidates are seeking the Republican seat in Lake County Board District 10 that is being vacated by Diana O'Kelly after 20 years. Mundelein Trustee Terri Voss is an outspoken, tireless advocate for business. Cornelius "Connie" Shanahan, a Fremont Township board member, offers career expertise in the road-building industry that would be valuable. But our endorsement goes to Chuck Bartels, a retired CEO of Manpower franchises in northeastern Illinois. Though he has not sought public office until now, he is no stranger to Lake County politics, and his list of civic involvement, past and present, is extensive. He not only recognizes the importance of public-private partnerships, he lives them and touts a long list of accomplishments. He has served on boards and affiliated with a wide array of entities including those related to education, transportation, health care, and charitable and youth organizations. He is dedicated to the well-being of county government and focused on creating good jobs through economic development while maintaining the quality of life Lake County residents are accustomed to. Bartels has the skill set, drive and personal contacts needed to create positive outcomes in Lake County.
