Hundreds lose power in Hanover Park

Power went out in hundreds of homes in Hanover Park Monday morning due to an equipment failure, officials said.

John Schoen, a ComEd spokesman, said the power outage was the result of a "feeder lockout" that occurred at 9:45 a.m., leaving about 670 customers without power. The equipment failure is similar to "when a circuit breaker trips in your house and the power goes out," he said.

All power was restored by Monday afternoon.
