Bartlett, Lightning schedule softball clinics

Bartlett softball coach Jim Wolfsmith has scheduled two clinic dates for players in grades 4-8.

The camps will focus primarily on hitting but there will be pitchers on hand to work with those skills. The clinics will be run by the Bartlett High School coaching staff and players.

Clinic dates are: Saturday, Feb. 15 from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon and Saturday, March 1 from 10 a.m. to noon. Cost of each clinic is $25 and they will be held in the upstairs gym at Bartlett High School.

Players who sign up for two clinics get a special price of $45, or all three clinics for $60.

Lightning skills camp: The Northern Illinois Lightning Fastpitch Softball organization will host a one-day skills camp at Judson University on Sunday, April 27 for girls ages 8-14.

The camp will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. rain or shine.

Camp instructors include Larkin head coach and longtime area instructor Anne Vogt, Judson University head coach Becky Pearl, St. Edward head coach and Lightning 18U manager Jaci Corn and Lightning 18U assistant coach Courtney LaFerle.

Campers will receive instruction in hitting, bunting, slapping, fielding, throwing, pitching, catching and baserunning.

The cost of the camp is $100.
