Life in Libertyville 100 years ago will be the topic at the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at the Cook Park Library, 413 N. Milwaukee Ave. Jenny Barry, local history librarian and a society member will look back at the people, businesses and key events in Libertyville in 1914. She plans to touch on: some people of interest, including Dennis Limberry, the town marshall; business news, including the Meredith Flower & Vegetable Company's financial difficulties; what Libertyville residents did for entertainment; and, issues of the day, including the temperance battle.
