Conservation groups offers outdoor Valentine's Day celebration

Enjoy an evening with your family or that special someone under the full moon and stars. Come to McHenry County Conservation District's "Valentine's Day Celebration Under the Stars" from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake.

This free event will offer an array of activities is planned for all ages plus there'll be some tasty sweet treats around the campfire. Schedule includes fireside storytelling at 6 p.m.; children's puppet show at 6:30 p.m.; children's nature activities stations at 7 p.m.; adult presentation on animal courtship at 7 p.m.; hike under the full moon and along a luminary lit trail at 7:30 p.m. and fireside storytelling at 8 p.m.

Ongoing throughout the evening: check out the moon, stars and other celestial wonders through telescopes, cook s'mores over the fire and sip hot chocolate or create a special craft to bring home.
