If yes, please explain: NoQuestions Answers Why are you running for this office? Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is that?I believe that this township is over represented by the Republican Party. Palatine has a large Democratic population and the population of Independent voters has been increasing in recent years. Yet Republican candidates continue to win the majority of seats in the Township. In fact, in recent years and under current Democratic Township leadership, we have lost incumbent Democrats and allowed a Republican who compares legal same-sex marriage to laws allowing for polygamy and marriage between underage children and adults to easily win one of our districts. The Republican Party has a very effective Township organization and their efforts far surpass Democratic efforts in the Township. As a community, this Township needs Democratic Party leadership that can effectively communicate the Democratic agenda, raise community awareness, identify qualified Democratic candidates, and get more Democratic voters to the polls. What differentiates you most from your opponents in the race?I am interested in building a stronger and more effective Democratic organization in this Township. I believe that we can accomplish this through party unity, the identification of strong candidates, the promotion of our agenda and issues, and by better engaging the community and residents of the Township. Finally, is there anything we haven't asked about that you feel we should know?Candidate did not respond.
