Bus drivers are amazing this year

Thank you to all District 303 bus drivers and bus drivers in all the other districts.

We have had a very unusual winter, schools have had to make the tough decision to close schools or leave them open; not everyone is happy when schools are closed.

I read an article awhile ago where some parents feel if the school has heat they should send the kids, difficult with finding last minute coverage for kids when you work.

Safety of the children should be the first priority. The side roads which the buses travel to pick up the children are not always cleared or salted first thing in the morning, then you have the main roads which sometimes even in a car can be a nightmare to drive. Imagine driving a bus and having all those children on the bus. These bus drivers have a lot to deal with on the roads.

I have driven my children to school when the buses are running late. So I truly appreciate what my bus driver does with getting my boys to school safely.

These bus drivers do an amazing job to get the kids to school safely and I think they should be commended for doing this.

If you think driving a bus is nothing, then you should try it; it’s nothing like driving your car.

So when I get the call school is closed, I know that it was not an easy decision as not everyone is going to be happy with the school closing.

I do also work and have to rearrange things when my boys are home, but for me I am OK with this knowing they are safe.

Thank you again to these amazing bus drivers and to my bus driver.
