Attitudes of wealthy harm our democracy

Certain powerful Americans feel that those with extreme wealth have earned it through initiative and hard work. At the same time, they believe that those working every day at much lower wages are less deserving.

This belief system results in support for lower taxes for the rich and cuts in wages, pensions, and other benefits for un-wealthy workers. This attitude has resulted in the widest American wage gap since the Great Depression. It harms hardworking Americans, weakens our economy, and puts our very democracy in jeopardy.
