ECC tabs Ceh as women’s soccer coach

Elgin Community College has named a recent player and a current student to be the head coach of its women’s soccer team.

Rick Ceh, who played for the Spartans’ men’s team in 2013 and is currently studying for his Associate Degree in Applied Science at the school, will be the team’s new head coach.

Ceh is a head coach at the club level and he holds a litany of certifications as a soccer coach and official.

He is also an avid marathon runner and expects to shed that athleticism to his Spartans’ soccer team.

“Our top priorities for the women’s soccer program are to graduate all our players and create an environment that makes their time at ECC a great experience,” said Ceh, who has completed seven marathons in the last eight years. “I look forward to teaching our players what kind of work ethic, discipline and dedication it takes to accomplish their goals.”
