Too complicated for the masses

Nuance?

Can it be said that for every idiotic comment to emanate from the mouths of the two official spokesmen for our U.S. State Department there will be an even more idiotic comment?

Recently, Marie Harf, the half of this illustrious tag team, lectured that the way to "degrade" (Obama's verb) the Islamic State was to help young people "in places like Libya" to find gainful employment. "The fact that there's no governance and there's no opportunity for young people," said Harf. "It lets groups like ISIL grow there and flourish there."

In taking on her critics via a public relations blitz that included a tweet storm, on Twitter, and an appearance on CNN, where she dug her herself into a much deeper hole by claiming that her comments "might be too nuanced an argument for some." Her argument is just "too nuanced" for us to understand?

But the simple matter of the fact is that Harf and other members of Team Obama are now, if anything, refusing to identify the conditions that can turn people to extremism, which is flourishing under radical Islamic teachings.

How Marie Harf and Jen Psaki can go in front of the country, on camera, and spew out the dumb statements they do, absolutely baffles me. Finally, Obama's spokesperson comes right out and says what they all think; they're just smarter than the common citizen and just know better. No point them trying to explain, it's just too complicated for the simple minds of the masses.
