Unclaimed winning lottery ticket sold in Des Plaines

Someone who bought a lottery ticket worth $162,500 in Des Plaines almost a year ago still hasn't claimed the winning prize — and time is running out, Illinois Lottery officials said.

The winning ticket in the Feb. 21, 2013 Lucky Day Lotto drawing was purchased at the 7-Eleven store at 586 E. Oakton St. Players have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize, officials said.

The winning numbers were 11, 15, 20, 27 and 33.

And, if the lucky ticket holder lives near Des Plaines, that person won't have far to go to claim the prize. Lottery prizes totaling more than $600 may be claimed at five prize centers across Illinois, including one at 9511 Harrison St. in Des Plaines. The other locations are in Chicago, Springfield, Rockford and Fairview Heights.
