Mount Prospect man struck by car, hospitalized Monday

A 71-year-old man was injured Monday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle in Mount Prospect.

Police responded at 4:27 p.m. Monday to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Algonquin Road west of the intersection with Route 83. Officers found the Mount Prospect man in the left turn lane of eastbound Algonquin Road, west of the intersection with Route 83.

The Mount Prospect Fire Department transported the man to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where he remained Tuesday.

The vehicle’s driver, a 52-year-old Barrington man, was not injured.

Mount Prospect police request that anyone who witnessed the crash contact the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team at (847) 870-5656.
