1 man killed, another injured in Rockford shooting
ROCKFORD — Police in Rockford are investigating an apparent double shooting that left one man dead and another severely injured.
The Rockford Register Star reports that the police department says that the body of a 26-year-old Boone County man was found shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday in a parking lot after police responded to a report that shots had been fired.
Police say that another man — a 25-year-old resident of Belvidere — arrived at an area hospital with life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Police declined to immediately provide the names of the two men or any other information about the shootings.
