Library's KidsZone Announces Music, Magic and Sports Programs
Music, magic and sports programs for children are coming up in February at the Schaumburg Township District Library (STDL), 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg.
“Silly Song Sing Along” for ages 5-8 will take place from 4 – 4:45 p.m., Monday, Feb. 10 in the kidsZone Program Room 1. Children will enjoy an imaginative and interactive concert presented by female acoustic folk duo, Awake and Dreaming. Props, singing and some songwriting will be included in this event. No registration is required. Participants are welcome to drop in.
In honor of the Winter Olympics, the library has scheduled “Let the Games Begin” for ages 6-14. Scheduled from 4-5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, this fun-filled program will help children learn about the origins of some sports, such as baseball, football and basketball, as well as the Olympics. This drop-in program is presented by Histories for Kids.
Aspiring magicians ages 5-7 are invited to sign up for “Junior Magic Workshop,” which takes place from 10-11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 17 in the kidsZone Program Room 1. Older children are welcome to attend “Magic Workshop” for ages 8-14, scheduled from 11:15 to 12:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 17, also in Program Room 1. During both workshops, kids will learn several thrilling and entertaining tricks from the Magic Team of Gary Kantor, and each will receive a magic kit to take home.
