Feb. 4: CLC offers free class on knowing the 10 signs of Alzheimer’s

The warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease are often dismissed as side effects of normal aging. If you or someone you know is experiencing memory loss or behavioral changes, it’s time to learn the facts.

The College of Lake County will offer a free class called “The 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s” from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 in Room T323, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake.

Early detection of Alzheimer’s can give you a chance to begin drug therapy, enroll in clinical studies and plan for the future. The class will help you separate myth from reality and address commonly-held fears. Participants will hear from people who have the disease and find out how to recognize the signs of Alzheimer’s onset.

The class is being offered by CLC’s Center for Personal Enrichment and is being taught by a representative from The Alzheimer’s Association Greater Chicago Chapter. The class is free but registration is requested. Visit www.10signsclc.eventbrite.com to register or contact the Center for Personal Enrichment at (847) 543-2022 or email cpeinfo@clcillinois.edu for more information.
