Chicago science museum free for kids in February

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago is offering free admission for children during the month of February.

The museum says its hands-on exhibits are a fun way for children to escape the winter doldrums. It Is inviting kids to take a run in a human-sized hamster wheel, see lightning strike, manipulate a tornado and climb aboard a historic locomotive.

The free entry does not include extras such as a temporary exhibit of Disney memorabilia called “Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives.”

The free admission is for children ages 3 to 11. The tickets must be obtained at the museum ticket counter and cannot be acquired online. Up to four free child tickets are allowed with the purchase of one adult entry.
