Check claims about jobless benefits

This is in response to James Prescott’s letter of Jan. 21. His letter states the idiocy of certain remarks to not pass the extension of unemployment compensation.

I’ll agree that the level the stock market has little to do with the level of employment. And yes, people including myself did suffer from the recession. And you can argue until the cows come home on whose is at fault for that. But the fact is that this administration has created the lowest job participation in the last 30 years. Thank you, President Obama.

It is also unfortunate that we live in the Democratic state of Illinois whose job creation rating is 50th. Thank you, Speaker Madigan. Thank you, Gov. Quinn.

Mr. Prescott also questions a letter writer who stated that many people stay on the dole without looking for work. However he “personally” doesn’t know any of these people and “suspects” that they are far and few between. What hypocrisy. That is your opinion — not fact.

This administration is now in its sixth year. They claimed the recession was over years ago but still label the unemployment benefit extension as an emergency. Exactly when does the emergency end? They have run out of excuses but they continue to serve Kool-Aid for the clueless.
