Buffalo Grove Pizza Fest postponed by frigid weather

With Buffalo Grove High School closed Tuesday because of the frigid weather, the Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove has rescheduled its Pizza Fest to Wednesday, Feb. 26, at the school.

The event, which had been scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, will offer pizza connoisseurs an opportunity to sample some of the best Buffalo Grove has to offer. Diners will be able to try foods from local establishments including Lou Malnati’s, Jets, Nino’s, Prairie House, Wa-Pa-Ghetti’s, Danny’s, Domino’s and more. Admission is $2. Each slice of pizza is $2 and any drink or dessert item is $1.

During the benefit, Rotary will be collecting nonperishable food items to help stock up the Wheeling Food Pantry and Kingswood Food Pantry in Buffalo Grove. Buffalo Grove Rotary supports many local charities and community initiatives including hunger relief, safety programs, Special Olympics, park improvements, school programs, and student exchanges. Its members have traveled to global service projects that include providing fresh water in Africa, immunization efforts to eradicate polio in India and development projects for schools in the Guatemalan jungle.
