Loyola of Chicago beats Northern Iowa 93-87 in OT

CHICAGO — Milton Doyle scored eight of his 28 points in overtime to lift Loyola of Chicago to a 93-87 overtime victory over Northern Iowa on Saturday.

Doyle hit a 3-pointer and was 5 of 6 from the line as Loyola outscored Northern Iowa 17-11 in overtime. Doyle finished 8 of 11 from the field and made 10 of his 11 free throws attempts.

Loyola of Chicago trailed the entire second half until Christian Thomas made a pair of free throws to tie it at 76 with 18 seconds to play. With 4 seconds remaining, Deon Mitchell missed a shot and Seth Tuttle missed the putback for Northern Iowa to send the game into overtime.

Thomas finished with 20 points for Loyola of Chicago (8-12, 3-5 Missouri Valley).

Mitchell scored 23 points, and Tuttle added 17 to lead Northern Iowa (10-10, 4-4 Missouri Valley).
