Gurnee police vehicle struck from behind:

A Waukegan man was ticketed for driving under the influence and other offenses Thursday after rear-ending a Gurnee police community service vehicle. Police said the female officer was in a marked Dodge Durango parked on Washington Street at Greenleaf Avenue about 9 p.m. on a call of a disabled vehicle when her vehicle was struck from behind by a car driven by Rodolfo Montesdeoca, no age given. The officer, who was not identified, was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville as a precaution and later released. Montesdeoca was not injured, police said. He was ticketed for DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.
