Boomers eighth fastest-growing baseball team

The Schaumburg Boomers baseball team won not only the 2013 Frontier League championship and Organization of the Year award but also the distinction of being one of the Top 10 Fastest Growing Teams in professional baseball, according to research compiled by David Kronheim on numbertamer.com.

Averaging 3,005 fans per game in 2013, the Boomers saw a 17.1 percent increase in total attendance from 2012 and a 19.6 percent gain in per-game figures. The team drew approximately 500 more fans per night than in their inaugural season, highlighted by their first-ever sellout when 7,578 fans watched the Boomers defeat the Frontier Greys on June 19, 2013.

Revenues also were up by approximately 20 percent across the board, according to the site.
