Dining events: Cafe Amano trying out Mexican cuisine
Italian meets Mexican
Italian restaurant Cafe Amano tackles Mexican cuisine at a special dining event from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26. The evening includes modern and classic Mexican dishes such as seafood cocktails, nachos, ceviche, flautas, carnitas, fajitas, burritos, tacos, red and green rice, beans and mole, as well as unique margaritas and a live mariachi band from 5 to 7 p.m. Children's dinners are $7, appetizers range from $10 to $14; adult entrees are $12 to $20.

Devon's power lunch
The power lunch menu includes new entree items at Devon Seafood + Steak in Oakbrook Terrace. Offered between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, they include the pretzel-crusted trout, lobster mac 'n' cheese, flat-iron steak salad, grilled shrimp salad, blackened chicken with penne pasta, and shrimp and white cheddar grits. Power lunch entrees come with soup or salad for $18.50.

Hugo's prix fixe
Hugo's Frog Bar and Fish House celebrates restaurant week with a three-course prix fixe dinner menu through Thursday, Feb. 6. Start with Alaskan red king crab BLT with avocado and brioche toast; an entree of charbroiled filet medallions topped with Alaskan red king crab and hollandaise sauce; and dessert of a muddy bottom pie, chocolate and vanilla ice cream, macadamia nuts, chocolate chips, marshmallows and an Oreo cookie-crumb crust. $44 per person.
