Voting GOP? Be careful what you wish for

It never ceases to amaze me that there are folks like the writer of a letter debunking the Affordable Care Act as a means to destroy the middle class that is a fallacy and so misleading. The United States is so far behind Europe in giving universal health care, we are a joke. Germany, which is probably the most affluent country in Europe, has had such health care for over 30 years. I know because I had a son who was terribly injured there when he was 18 in an auto accident. He received outstanding care at a trauma hospital including two surgeries. The government paid for everything, and he wasn’t even German.

The middle class has been paying through the nose for uninsured patients who come to the hospitals emergency rooms as their only means of health care. And I am sure that he and some of his folks are benefiting from President Bush’s prescription drugs program. That took a while to get off the ground, and as an 80-year-old I still do not understand how it works, only that it does: The Democrats never tore apart that program like the GOP is trying to do with ACA.

Wake up, folks. And please pay attention at the polls before you put the GOP back in office. Remember that the Democrats did not fight Reagan or Bush when they asked for extensions on unemployment.
