Help name new Arlington Hts., Mount Prospect dog park

If you have a witty way with words, the Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect park districts are hoping you can come up with a name for their new playground for pups scheduled to open in June.

The park districts are asking residents can submit suggested names Jan. 20 and Feb. 3 for their new shared dog park planned for Melas Park, 1500 W. Central Road. Arlington Heights residents can submit punny pet park names at ahpd.org and Mount Prospect residents can submit ideas at mppd.org.

Staff will narrow the suggestions down to three by Feb. 14 and allow residents to vote for their favorite between Feb. 15-28.

The new name for the 1.82-acre dog park will be revealed in March.
