Atkinson Road near North Chicago shut down due to road conditions

The Lake County Sheriff's office reports that Atkinson Road between St. Mary's Road and Route 43, near North Chicago, has been shut down because of impassable road conditions.
Conditions are so bad, the office said, that even snow plows cannot get through.
The road was closed down at 10:45 p.m. Friday. It is unclear when it will reopen.
