Chicago fire causes Elgin Metra delays

A warehouse fire in Chicago is causing major delays on the Metra Milwaukee District West train line this morning.

According to ABC 7, the warehouse fire began just after 9 a.m. and engulfed a building at 1945 N. Latrobe near Grand and Cicero avenues.

While the Chicago Fire Department battles the fire, no Metra trains are moving through the area.

The Milwaukee District West Line to Elgin moves through that area and one train that was scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 10:02 a.m. was stopped at the Hanson station and is operating at least an hour behind schedule, according to the Metra website.

A train scheduled to arrive at Big Timber Road at 10:50 a.m. has also been stopped near the fire.
