Schaumburg High band performs at Outback Bowl

The Schaumburg High School band has completed a tour that included stops in Orlando and Tampa, Fla. The band had seven performances in six days while on the road.

The marching band performed at a parade in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and then traveled to Tampa where the jazz band and wind symphony competed. The wind symphony was awarded second place in the competition.

The marching band also performed in the Outback Bowl Parade on New Year’s Eve in Tampa’s Ybor City to an electric crowd. The band was awarded second place in that competition.

To finish the trip, the marching band and 10 other high school bands from around the country performed in the Outback Bowl halftime show at in front of a crowd of 60,000 and an ESPN audience on New Year’s Day.
