MCC offers seminars for small business owners

Small business owners can ring in the year in a new way with three new marketing seminars offered by the Illinois Small Business Development Center at McHenry County College.

The seminars take place from 6 to 8 p.m. beginning Jan. 8 at the Shah Center, 4100 W. Shamrock Lane in McHenry.

Cost is $35 for each seminar. To register, call the ISBDC office at (815) 455-6098.

Strategies for Identifying a Market Niche on Jan. 8: Participants will learn how to analyze their marketplace and identify a market niche or opportunity that their business can compete in.

Measuring Social Media Results on Feb. 5: How do you know if your social media campaigns are working? Businesses want healthy response and results for their marketing hour and dollar investments. Participants will focus on capturing, measuring and using results of social media marketing to apply to their business for better results.

Market Research for Small Businesses — Know Your Industry, Customers, and Competition on Feb. 26: Marketplaces are dynamic and constantly changing. Is your marketplace shrinking, stable, or growing? Market research can help you answer these questions. This hands-on approach to market research will help you know more about your industry.
