Police arrest 3rd suspect in pregnant girl’s death

A third suspect in the Christmas Day fatal shooting of a pregnant teenager in the South suburbs has turned himself in to police.

Attorney Stuart Goldberg says his client, 19-year-old Darius D. Marshall, was arrested Monday afternoon by Dolton police in connection with the shooting of 17-year-old Eva Casara.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported Marshall turned himself over to officers at a Cook County criminal courthouse on Chicago’s South Side.

Already facing charges of first-degree murder are 16-year-old Anthony Lee and 21-year-old Diante Lamont Coakley. Authorities say Casara was shot when a drug deal went wrong.

The Calumet City girl was 5½months pregnant. Her baby survived but is struggling for life in a hospital.
