Des Plaines payday loan store robbed

Des Plaines police are trying to locate a man who robbed a local payday loan business at gunpoint Tuesday morning.

An unknown person brandishing a handgun walked into the Check into Cash store at about 11:55 a.m. on the 700 block of West Golf Road in Des Plaines, according to a written statement from police. The man demanded the employees give him money. The employees handed over a sum of money. Police are not disclosing the amount. The man then ran out of the business.

Des Plaines police arrived at the scene but could not locate the offender after checking the immediate area. A detailed description of the suspect is not yet available.
