Former Woodridge soccer coach gets 180 days in child porn case

A Woodridge man accused of possessing four pornographic photos of girls younger than 13 was sentenced Friday to a mix of probation and jail time.

Gabriel E. Saenz, 31, of the 2400 block of Spring Street, pleaded guilty in August to four felony counts of child pornography. DuPage County Judge John Kinsella sentenced him to four years of sex offender probation, and 180 days in the DuPage County jail.

Saenz’s attorney, Kimberly Gonzalez, said he has two weeks to turn himself in at the jail.

Saenz’s computer was searched and he was arrested on preliminary charges in January after an online undercover investigation by Wheaton police.

Officials confirmed Saenz once was a youth soccer coach at the Woodridge Park District but said he left two seasons ago. He has no prior criminal history in DuPage County, court records show.
