Indiana family trying to get back dog lost in tornado

MELLOTT, Ind. — An Indiana woman whose dog vanished when a tornado struck her family’s home last month says a person who adopted the dog from an animal shelter six days later refuses to return him.

Kyla Robinson says her family’s beloved dog, Rosco, went missing when a tornado badly damaged their home in Mellott, a small town 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis.

Someone brought Rosco to the Clinton County Humane Society the day after the twister after finding him wandering without tags about 45 miles from home. A woman adopted him five days later.

Robinson tells the Journal & Courier that she’s working with an attorney to try to get Rosco back.

She says her 10-year-old daughter still cries and hopes “these people will have a heart and give him back.”
