Bartlett National Night Out ranks 3rd in country

The National Association of Town Watch recently announced that Bartlett earned third place in its population category of 15,000 to 49,999 residents in this year’s National Night Out celebration.

The village was one of two Illinois communities to place in the top five in any of the National Night Out population categories. This was the 12th time that the village finished in the top three since 2002.

National Night Out is a unique crime prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch that is specifically designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

Thousands of Bartlett residents participated in this year’s National Night Out celebration by attending the National Night Out Twilight Skate Park Bash, Tailgate, and Pool Party on Friday, Aug. 2, the National Night Out Block Party & Neighborhood Lighting Competition on Saturday, Aug. 3, and the National Night Out Picnic in the Park celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

Bartlett issued a statement thanking the Bartlett Park District, the Bartlett Fire Protection District, the Bartlett Lion’s Club, and all of the businesses, civic groups, volunteers and residents who contributed to the success of this year’s National Night Out celebration.

The village has already begun to make preparations for next year’s National Night Out Picnic in the Park on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
