Northwest Festival Orchestra deserving of more support

I appreciated your recent photo and article about the Northwest Festival Orchestra, but I am disappointed that this fine orchestra is not better supported by corporate sponsors, nor its performances better attended by the public.

This orchestra fills the need for high level, professional caliber performances at an affordable price and a convenient location in the Northwest suburbs. Audiences enjoy the world of symphony, opera and American musical theater without a lengthy trek to downtown Chicago, exorbitant parking fees and expensive ticket prices.

Young adult musicians, many with graduate degrees, have an opportunity for experience and income as they establish their careers.

At last Sunday’s concert, Maestro Schwager conducted rousing selections combining orchestra, chorus and soloists. It was a thrilling afternoon that amazed and inspired.

The Northwest Festival Orchestra is a nonprofit organization that needs better attendance, more donations and corporate sponsorship so it can secure a permanent home and continue to take us on remarkable musical journeys!
